About geelish

Welcome to Geelish, a name lovingly given to me by my family - I've always been known to them as Gee, so as my passion for cooking grew and my dishes got better and better, "deelish" naturally became "Geelish". 


I am a chef with a French & Italian background. Growing up in our family-run Bed & Breakfast in Normandy, France, I was exposed early on to one of the richest gastronomic traditions in the world, and food & hospitality were at the heart of family life. 
 

At 22, I moved to Rome where I fell even more in love with cooking, eating and the Italian food culture. This inspired me to turn my passion into a profession and train at the Italian Chef Academy. I went on to work in various restaurants in Rome, but an experience that shaped my career path was interning at the Rome Sustainable Food Project, an initiative founded by Alice Waters, at the American Academy in Rome. There, I learnt all about seasonality, farm to table philosophy, and root to tip cookery. Most importantly, in true Italian style, I learnt to put my heart into my cooking.


I moved back to London in 2024, and began co-running Refettorio Felix in Earl's Court, a community kitchen with a twist - transforming surplus produce into restaurant quality 3 course meals for the homeless and vulnerable. A social project tackling food waste and restoring some dignity to those in need, made possible thanks to the help of the most kind hearted volunteers.

 

These experiences led me to taking on the ultimate challenge - Masterchef: The Professionals 2026 - where I made it to the final 5. Taking part in this prestigious competition really encouraged me to discover my own cooking style which I'm now excited to share with you!
